If you have a FiST, upgrade it. Upgrade it now.

It’s a night and day difference. My miles per gallon has improved, m y AC seems to work better, and the power is always there, so the smiles per gallon has improved.

That being said, the radiator is still absolute garbage.

One day, I’ll throw the Mountune MR300 package onto my FoST.

I want to real bad.

I think I’m kind of towards the end of my mods. I want something quicker and more tail happy.

Put a bigger rear sway bar in the FiST!

Rad, intercooler, RMM and quickshift are the must does on any Fiesta ST.

I would if I owned it. Damn you, banks! (Even though they gave me money to buy it)

I’ve bought so much mountune stuff. Can’t say anything bad about it.

Maybe, if it doesn’t blow cylinder 4.

Is that a common issue with them? I kinda want one but Ford quality worries me

If you tune it with Cobb’s standard tune, yeah. If you leave the FoST alone, it’s somewhat reliable. That being said, if you  are going FoST size, get a GTI. There isn’t that much more room in the FoST than the FiST(it feels like less up front actually), and the FiST is more reliable mechanically by a long shot.

I was only leaning towards the FoST because it’s so much cheaper than a GTI ($18k by me) and I think it looks better and comes in better colors. The FiST is too small for my family’s needs and the FoST was almost too small. The new Focus is supposed to be much bigger on the inside but I'm not holding my breath that we get the big engine in the Active.

I was excited for the Civic hatch but it’s not very good looking and the dealerships by me don’t like discounting the hatch. The Elantra GT Sport is a good contender, but while the sedan is common the hatch is rare around here (10 in a 250 mile radius). I like Mini but not for the price they want for an S.

I just want a good hot/warm hatchback at good price and it looks like it’s GTI vs the rest at this point. I just wish it came in orange or yellow lol

Just to say that as an unfortunate follower of the FoST boards, it mostly occurs because a) you got a tune and b) you don’t run 93+ octane and c) you stomp on the gas in 5th or 6th gear at below freeway speeds. Repeatedly. For weeks on end.

Stock FoSTs have been very reliable, especially after the first year. But...Not many people keep them stock because there is a large number of bros who have decided they know better than Ford’s engineers and get more power instead of correcting the cost cutting measures they did. FoST could still use an intercooler and radiator too. I think they had to balance space and cost concerns. If you get those, and a rear motor mount, you can “safely” run a decent boost tune. But apparently the FoST tunes can generate so much torque off the stock turbo that you blow up your clutch. So enjoy that....
